Following an interview, it was revealed that WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H “pushed” for launch of new company, Marigold.
In November 2023, STARDOM founder Rossy Ogawa informed the company of his intention to leave after making plans to leave in March 2024.
However, STARDOM decided to terminate Ogawa’s contract in February of this year after accusing him of “poaching a number of STARDOM athletes and staff members.”
After denying the accusations, Ogawa went on to form the new Joshi promotion, Marigold with several STARDOM talent, such as Giulia, Utami Hayashishita and MIRAI.
Speaking with Sports Graphic Number, Rossy Ogawa discussed founding Marigold and noted that some people who wanted him to do it. He said:
“There were some people who wanted me to do it,”
Rossy also mentioned that he had vaguely been envisioning the establishment of a new promotion since spring of last year.
Noting that WWE CCO Triple H was one of the people who helped give him the push to start the promotion, Ogawa said:
“Triple H said, ‘I want to help Ogawa do what he wants to do, whether it’s with STARDOM or individually,’ and he pushed me,”
Rossy Ogawa attended the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and was seen in the crowd alongside Giulia at NXT Stand And Deliver in Philadelphia during WrestleMania 40 weekend.
