Triple H gave fans a glimpse of the upcoming WrestleMania XL documentary.
The build to WrestleMania 40 was full of twists and turns. When Cody Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble match, he pointed straight to Roman Reigns and said he was coming for The Tribal Chief, a clear indication that he intended to finish his story with Reigns on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
However, on the February 2nd episode of SmackDown, Rhodes declared to Reigns that he would not be coming for him at WrestleMania after all and introduced a faceoff between Reigns and The Rock.
Rhodes reportedly warned WWE that the SmackDown segment would get a negative reaction, and sure enough, chants of “Rocky sucks” could be heart at both NXT Vengeance Day and Monday Night Raw.
After fan backlash, Cody Rhodes declared that he’d be facing Roman Reigns after all during the WrestleMania press conference, and in the main event of night two, Rhodes finished his story and defeated Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Triple H Gives An Exclusive Look At WrestleMania XL Documentary
In the lead-up to the event, it was announced that the documentary titled WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain would be released on the Wednesday after Mania. The trailer addressed the backlash and how they were forced to call an audible and featured interviews from the stars of the main event and Triple H.
However, as April 11th came and went, the documentary never materialized on YouTube and no official updates were provided. However, multiple sources reported that the reason for the delay was that there was much more footage than anticipated so more editing was required than initially expected.
The documentary is set to air on July 3rd, but fans can now get a look at the first two minutes thanks to a social media post from Triple H. The video can be seen below.
You can’t always predict the road that will bring you to your destination… or the destination itself, for that matter.
