Triple H set to change Hikuleo’s name in WWE? Exploring what his new name will be

Hikuleo is just one of the many recent wrestling stars rumored that Triple H has contacted to join WWE soon. Some even theorize that he could be joining The Bloodline’s story. However, fans may have to know him by another name, and a recent trademark from the company may have confirmed this.

Triple H has added many wrestling stars to WWE for the past few years and a couple of them landed in The Bloodline, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Both stars are the sons of legendary wrestler Haku and have a rich history in NJPW. However, it has recently been rumored that another one of their brother, Hikuleo, could be joining the Stamford-based promotion soon.

On June 11, 2024, WWE filed to trademark Talla Tonga, possibly Hikuleo’s possible new name in the company. This won’t be a new occurrence as Tanga Loa got his name changed to Tonga Loa weeks after debuting to the Triple H-led company.

Earlier this month, it was rumored that the 33-year-old wrapped up his duties in NJPW on June 9, 2024, after performing at the company’s Dominion event on the same day. During the event, the rumored superstar teamed with El Phantasmo and failed to win the IWGP Tag Team and Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship.

How long has Triple H been interested in signing Hikuleo to WWE?
In April 2023, it was rumored that the company was interested in Hikuleo, Tama Tonga, EJ Nduka, Naomi, and Nick Aldis. However, none came to fruition for a while due to a hiring freeze, but William Regal and Bruce Prichard remained in contact with them. Months later, three of the five names have already appeared in the company.

In a November 2023 interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the NJPW star confirmed the reports of WWE reaching out to him and Tama Tonga earlier that year, which added value to his Loser Leaves Japan match with Jay White. He added that communication breaking down and other factors became the reason why he and Tama decided it wasn’t the right time:

Bullet Club Member Hikuleo Appears At AEW Fyter Fest

“We were weighing it out and we talked about it for a while too. It was a lot of things. It wasn’t quite the right time. Not sure there will ever be a right time. It was a lot of factors at that time didn’t play out how we thought it would. There is loyalty, there is trust you build with New Japan or any company and you don’t want to break that off and just jump right now when something seems good. It just fell through and we’re where we are supposed to be.”

It would be interesting if Triple H has indeed another exciting star on the company’s roster, and when fans will be able to see him.
