The WWE Universe was on its feet during Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland, as it produced an amazing main event featuring a hometown hero. The night’s final match was for the World Heavyweight Championship, which the champion Damian Priest put up for grabs against the Scotsman Drew McIntyre.
The match’s storyline had its roots set in revenge, following the Judgment Day member capitalizing on the opportunity at WrestleMania 41 with the Money in the Bank briefcase. While Priest emerged triumphant to round off arguably the best win in his career, McIntyre suffered the ignominy of losing the much-coveted gold moments after he had won it. And tonight, the Scottish Warrior had the chance to get his revenge and attain the gold for himself.
The match was spectacular, to say the least. However, it wasn’t as flawless as the wrestlers would’ve wanted. In one spot, Damian Priest attempted to hit Drew McIntyre with his traditional middle-string suicide dive. This time, unfortunately, the World Heavyweight Champion did not perform the move to perfection as he usually does.

He got stuck with his right foot between the middle and upper ropes and suffered a severe injury. And now, Triple H has provided an update on the extent of the World Heavyweight champion’s injury.

Throughout the match, the Judgment Day member was seen feeling discomfort in his leg. Limping and grabbing the leg that was caught. And in the post-show press conference, Triple H shared an update on the injury after talking to the Judgment Day member. The COO of the company revealed that Priest might’ve suffered an injury, but it has yet to be verified by the medical professionals.
Triple H revealed that pro wrestling is not as safe as many believe, and it too has its fair share of pain. While Priest might not be feeling it right now due to all the adrenaline rushing through his body, it is possible that all might not be well with the leg of the heavyweight champion.
HHH said, “When I saw that happen to Damian, my heart jumped out of my chest. I didn’t see any way that he wasn’t injured. When I got word that he was fine, which adrenaline is a helluva drug. I’m really hoping I will get good news. Because while he is walking around okay now. I’m sure adrenaline is carrying him through that.” The COO of the company will be hopeful that fate doesn’t toy with him yet again and replicate the mishap that plagued the former WWE World Heavyweight champion.
In the buildup to WrestleMania 40, Triple H & Co received the distressing news that Seth Rollins had suffered an injury that could take him out of contention from the Show of Shows. At the time, the Visionary was earmarked for a blockbuster feud with the returning CM Punk. Nevertheless, Rollins soldiered on as he made engaged in two blockbuster matchups on both nights of WrestleMania. However, post-WrestleMania, the former WWE champion, had to take a hiatus to completely recover from his injuries and he hasn’t been seen since. Triple H will prove hopeful that another champion won’t suffer the same misery and could feature on weekly programming to continue his title reign.
With this win, Priest marked his 69th day with the title since he won it for the first time at WrestleMania. Moreover, unlike his fellow Judgment Day member Rhea Ripley, Priest would not like to vacate his title after an injury.
