WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has congratulated the winner of a brand new WWE Championship on social media.
Earlier this year, WWE announced a brand new show to air on Twitter/X entitled “Speed.” The show features matches with a three minute time limit and held a tournament to crown the first Speed Champion.
On May 3, Ricochet defeated Johnny Gargano in the finals of the first-ever WWE Speed Championship tournament to become the brand new champion.
Reacting to the new champion being crowned, Triple H congratulated the first-ever WWE Speed Champion Ricochet. He wrote:
You always remember the first to ever do it.
Nobody defines “speed” like Ricochet. Congratulations to @KingRicochet on adding another title reign to his legacy and becoming the first-ever #WWESpeed Champion.
WWE Speed airs on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. Eastern on WWE’s Twitter/X account.
Ricochet will not have long to wait to defend his newly won title as it was also announced that another tournament will be held to crown the Highlight of the Night’s first challenger.
The tournament consists of just four stars as Ivar faces off with Apollo Crews, while Legado Del Fantasma’s Berto takes on New Catch Republic’s Tyler Bate.
The winners of those two bouts will then face off for a chance to challenge Ricochet for the WWE Speed Championship.
