Highlights

  • Triple H motivated AOP to shine at WrestleMania, urging them to steal the show and impress him to earn a push.
  • The Authors of Pain have been getting a push lately, showing improvement and potential for success in WWE.
  • Despite mixed reactions from fans, Triple H sees potential in AOP’s future and is actively pushing them to reach their full potential.

During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, host Bully Ray talked about his experience at WrestleMania 40 and specifically about some of the things he saw backstage while he was there. Bully was the guest official during the Final Testament match against Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits and said one exchange that took place backstage before the bout caught his attention. It spoke to the leadership of Triple H.

Triple H Tried To Energize The AOP
The Game has a vested interest in Karrion Kross and AOP doing well because he personally brought them back to WWE as part of his plans for creative. Both had been released when Vince McMahon was in charge, but Triple H saw big things for all three. Kross struggled earl in his return and Triple H needed a plan for the Authors of Pain, so he grouped them together. The trio was added to the WrestleMania card in a Street Fight match at WrestleMania 40.

JD McDonagh Getting Attention For Using Famous Triple H Gimmick
JD McDonagh has been using a gimmick Triple H made famous. Is this gimmick infringement or is Triple H supportive?

Ahead of their match at WrestleMania, Bully detailed a chat he witnessed Triple H have with the Authors of Pain. During his Busted Open Radio show, Ray revealed that Triple H motivated the duo and asked them to steal the show before their match. He explained:

Judgement Day entrance

“I watched [Levesque] go up to AOP and give them one hell of a pep talk. Basically, [he was] telling them, ‘Force me to push you.’ … I watched him go up to them and try to get into them, and basically say, ‘Give me a reason. Go out there. Steal the show. Do something.’”

The Authors of Pain and Final Testament have been getting a bit of a push recently, suggesting that they impressed. The duo has been featured as a dominant team, recently picking up a win over New Day. Whether a title run is in the cards for them remains to be seen.

Triple H Wants His Hires To Make It
Fans are mixed on AOP. They have the look, but aren’t necessarily the best in-ring workers. Still, Triple H must see something in them that he feels they have a lot more to give and he’s trying to get the best out of them. His pep talk to the tag team probably meant a lot to the duo who have been improved since their return.

It’s not clear where WWE is taking the Final Testament as a faction, as they’ve been all over the map since put together. Right now they are recruiting Xavier Woods, and working the midcard. Will a main even push ever come their way?
