Triple H Allegedly Stole Roman Reigns’ Bloodline Gimmick From WWE Faction Amid Racism Claims

As the Head of Creatives in WWE, Triple H is often held responsible for any storyline-related disputes that arrive in or outside the promotion. The Bloodline is one of the most successful stories that the WWE has put forward in recent times. However, a wrestler accused The Game of stealing the gimmick from his faction and giving it to the Anoa’i family.

This notion gained prominence when WWE star Montell Vontavious Porter talked to fans in the comment section of one of his recent posts. He also seemingly alleged the CCO of WWE of discriminating against African American men in the promotion.

Triple H accused of stealing The Hurt Business’s gimmick and granting it to The Bloodline

In 2020, The Hurt Business gained the favor of the fans sitting at home during the Thunderdome era. The faction included MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. The team had a classy concept, with both singles and tag titles being held by different team members. Two years later, we saw The Hurt Business disband, never to be put together again. MVP posted a picture where he stood in the middle and the rest of the team stood behind him. One fan angrily commented, “They took your gimmick and crew and gave it to the bloodline. That’s what happened . You guys were so kool, the suits, the attitude and gold. A complete unit!” In a now-deleted comment, the 50-year-old had replied, “True story.”

The rest of the comment section also added to this notion. MVP also didn’t relent at first. He tried to hold Triple H accountable for not bringing back The Hurt Business despite it being a fan-favorite. Moreover, The Bloodline storyline gaining the favor of HHH also seemed to irk the WWE star. One comment pointed out, “The Triple H era is emasculating black men. I’m really hating it.” This led to MVP agreeing and saying, “You see it.”

Even though he did not say the exact words, the former faction leader believes that Paul Levesque could be discriminating against African American men in the company. This is not the first time that HHH has incurred accusations and discrimination because of racial grounds.

Old practices still prevail as The Game enters the limelight for discriminatory practices
Several years ago, the Stamford-based company was on the radar for being racially stereotypical when providing gimmicks and storylines to wrestlers. Vince McMahon, who was the CEO at the time and had a heavy say in the creatives, emerged as the scapegoat for this issue. Although he managed to take WWE to heights that it hadn’t seen before, talents and fans of color did not always appreciate his stereotypical booking.

Even though McMahon has now been seemingly sidelined, we can still see this happening to this day. Especially with wrestlers of Latin background. Earlier in June 2024, Andrade replied on social media when a fan started discussing an issue that several luchadors in the company appear to be facing when getting booked.

So, could MVP’s suggested allegation hold some weight after all? The story is incomplete unless both sides of the coin are revealed. Stay tuned to uncover more about the same in the future.
