Travis Kelce had an emotional response to Taylor Swift’s surprise song medley during her AA tour show in the Netherlands on July 6th. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end attended the concert to support his pop star girlfriend, where she performed a sentimental mashup of songs with deep connections to their relationship.
Taylor began the medley with “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)” from her debut album, a track she hadn’t played live in years. The lyrics “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89, I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine” took on a new meaning as Travis’s jersey number is 87 and Taylor’s album “1989” is a nod to her birth year.
Following this, Taylor segued into “Starlight,” a song rumored to be inspired by Travis, and then “Everything Has Changed,” a romantic track from her album “Red,” which perfectly encapsulates their whirlwind romance.
Fans captured touching moments during the concert, showing Travis filming Taylor’s performance on his phone, swaying to the music, and clapping his hands in the air. At one point, he wiped away tears, overcome with emotion. His friend, Britney Mahomes, joined him briefly during the song, adding to the heartfelt scene. Britney and her husband, Patrick Mahomes, who is Travis’s teammate, were also in attendance, making it a memorable night for the group.
This concert was Taylor’s last of three performances in Amsterdam, part of the European leg of her Eras tour. Travis has been a regular presence at many of her shows, even bringing his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, to see Taylor perform in London.
In a surprising twist, Travis took the stage during Taylor’s London show for a fun cameo during her “Starlight” performance. On his and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast, Travis revealed that the idea to join her on stage was his own. “I initially mentioned it to Tay,” he shared. “I was like, how funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 era?” Taylor found the idea amusing and asked if he was serious about participating. Travis enthusiastically agreed, saying, “I’ve seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here.”
Taylor found the perfect moment for Travis to make his appearance, ensuring it was safe and seamless. “There was no bike, in case I ran into somebody or hit one of the dancers,” Travis joked. “It was the safest option.”
As Taylor continues her European tour, Travis’s support and their shared moments on stage highlight the deep connection between the couple. Fans are eagerly following their love story, both on and off the stage.
