“Political Views Aside”: Triple H’s Decision for Saudi Arabia PLE Backed by WWE Legend Despite Controversy

WWE’s decade-long deal with Saudi Arabia continues bearing fruits, with the company on the verge of hosting another grand PLE in the desert land on May 25th. Since 2018, the company has been arranging large-scale events in KSA, forging a greater relationship between both parties and drawing big paychecks. However, the decision stirred a lot of controversies initially due to the country’s political standpoint and severely rigid rules and regulations.

With time, although the brickbats became much diluted, there are still people who secretly frown at it for outdated reasons. For those, WWE veteran Bully Ray pulled out a unique counter-logic, giving full validation to Triple H‘s on-point prudence.

Bully Ray spots a startling element of woman empowerment in the selection of the upcoming PLE venue

The Stamford-based company has been on a mission to develop the overall condition of sports entertainment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the mutual effort of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sports and they’re sticking to their words. The last time WWE made a huge impact on the Middle Eastern country was Crown Jewel in 2023.

Right after the massive success of the PLE, it was decided that the company would revert to the place around May 2024. Given that time is already knocking at our door, the controversies about the venue are climbing high. Dismissing all this, Bully Ray took to his podcast, Busted Open Radio to highlight a praiseworthy aspect of the decision.

”When you put your political views aside, you then talk about change. We’re crowning a Queen of the Ring in Saudi. That’s another big step for the culture and also the progressiveness of how WWE has instituted change because remember the first few Saudis? Women weren’t even allowed on the show. So, I mean, this is a great thing that’s happening again to try to open up people’s minds that probably have been closed for generations” WWE Hall of Famer wisely elucidated. However, it seems WWE won’t stop at the level of hosting a mediocre PLE.

The WWE-Saudi Arabia partnership is escalating at a rapid pace

The General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia has proclaimed a strategic partnership between the Riyadh Season and the UFC, indicating an extension of their collaboration slated for the rest of the running year and early 2025. When it comes to WWE, it has also been revealed that another announcement featuring a deal expansion between WWE and KSA awaits us later this month.

Speculations suggested WWE might even opt for bringing the biggest event of the calendar WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia in some years. Even if it does not come out true, at least, the partnership has been on a roll for sure.
