Hugh Jackman Reunites with Ryan Reynolds to Support Blake Lively’s ‘It Ends with Us’ N.Y.C. Premiere

Hugh Jackman is Ryan Reynolds’ biggest supporter.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, Reynolds, 47, walked the red carpet at the New York City premiere of his wife Blake Lively’s new film, It Ends with Us, at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater.

Though the actor was there for his spouse’s big night, fans couldn’t get over his epic bromance with his Deadpool & Wolverine costar Jackman, 55, whom Reynolds posed with.

Reynolds also bonded with Lively’s castmates.

Earlier in the day, Reynolds shared a hilariously awkward Instagram video of himself surprising Lively’s costar Brandon Sklenar during a press day for the movie. Sklenar, 34, plays Lively’s onscreen love interest.

In the clip, Sklenar was wrapping up an on-camera interview with a journalist. As he reached down to readjust his clothing while the individual exited, Reynolds entered — ready to grill Sklenar about his role with Lively, 36.

“It’s not every day the husband gets to interview his wife’s love interest in a film. It’s kind of crazy,” he said after taking his seat.

Once Reynolds finished his line of questioning, his mother Tammy Reynolds and Jackman took turns playfully asking Sklenar about his relationship with Lively.

Jackman referred to Sklenar as “the guy trying to replace Ryan as a husband and me as his best mate” in the skit.

In the end, Reynolds, Tammy and Jackman collectively approved of Sklenar, at different points suggesting he could be Ryan’s “new dad” or “the next Wolverine.”

During Tuesday’s New York premiere of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 bestselling novel, the A Simple Favor star smiled as she took photos with both of the men in her life — Ryan and Sklenar.

Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet, Lively said it was “the best” feeling to have Ryan there with her.

“I mean, this movie is a movie about a woman who experiences every color of the human emotion, and the people who love her and support her along the way. So I feel that here tonight. I’m so grateful,” she added.

Justin Baldoni, Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Amy Morton, Alex Neustaedter and Isabela Ferrer also star in the romance drama.

It Ends with Us arrives in theaters on Aug. 9.
