Donald Trump Criticizes George Clooney’s Op-Ed Urging Biden to Step Down

**Los Angeles, CA** – Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on actor George Clooney following Clooney’s opinion piece in The New York Times, where he called for President Joe Biden to reconsider his bid for re-election. Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his disdain for Clooney’s blunt essay.

In his social media post, Trump referred to Clooney as a “fake movie actor” who, according to Trump, “never came close to making a great movie.” Trump went on to criticize Clooney for turning on Biden, whom Trump referred to as “crooked Joe,” likening both men to rats. “What does Clooney know about anything?” Trump questioned rhetorically, dismissing Clooney’s credentials to comment on politics.

Trump concluded his post by asserting that Biden has not saved democracy but has instead brought it “to its knees.” He advised Clooney to retreat from politics and return to his career in television, suggesting that movies were not a successful venture for him.

The remarks come in the wake of a notable backlash against Biden from both political opponents and some within his own party. Clooney’s op-ed reflects growing concerns about Biden’s performance, particularly after a recent debate performance that received mixed reviews.

However, political analysts have suggested that Trump’s criticism might be strategic, aiming to keep Biden in the race due to recent polls indicating a tightening race between Trump and Biden. Despite early indications favoring Trump post-debate, a new poll released Thursday shows the two candidates in a virtual tie nationally.

Responding to Clooney’s essay, Biden’s team pushed back, emphasizing that the Biden seen at a recent fundraiser differs from the debate persona criticized by Clooney. According to sources, Biden attended the fundraiser following his return from the G7 Summit in Italy, where he had been engaged in international diplomacy.
