Roman Reigns is not expected to take an extended time away from WWE after WrestleMania 39, it has been claimed.
Fans had speculated that should Roman drop the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania, he could be set for a prolonged absence from TV.
However, a new report has claimed that Reigns is expected to stick around on WWE TV after WrestleMania, even wrestling the following month.
What are WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns after WrestleMania 39?
As noted, Roman will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39, likely in the main event of night two, against Cody Rhodes.
Many feel as if Cody, who won the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match, is more likely than anyone has been in quite some time to take Roman’s title off him at WWE’s biggest show of the year.
Roman signed a new WWE deal last year for significantly fewer dates, so many fans have questioned if Roman dropping the title at WrestleMania could be the start of a prolonged absence from WWE TV for ‘The Tribal Chief’.
However, Xero News, who has been on the money with several package reports as of late, is reporting that Reigns is tentatively planned for the May WWE pay-per-view event, which is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Source tells me that the working plan has Roman Reigns main eventing the Saudi Arabia show in May. It’s currently unknown what the PPV will be called, but my source tells me he wouldn’t be surprised if it was “WrestleMania: Backlash” in Saudi Arabia.
As you can see above, the report not only states that Roman is slated for the May Premium Live Event, but the “working plan” is for him to be involved in the main event match.
So, it seems like fans really don’t know either way whether or not Roman is going to be dropping his title at WrestleMania 39, but it seems like a prolonged break from WWE TV following the major event isn’t in his future.
There are still just shy of two months between now and the major event, so a lot could change between now and then, so GiveMeSport will keep you updated on any potential updates on the matter and Roman’s post-WrestleMania status.
