Kenny Omega recently returned to AEW to give an update on his battle with diverticulitis. It’s the first time wrestling fans had seen the Best Bout Machine on TV in months, but that doesn’t mean he’s been hiding either. Omega regularly streams on his Twitch channel, where he gives his thoughts on everything going on in wrestling, even WWE. With that in mind, Kenny Omega shared his opinion on how Triple H is booking the new era of WWE, and he heaped praise on the man who has tried to sign him multiple times.

Why Now Is The Time For Kenny Omega To Retire From AEW
Kenny Omega wants to make a comeback from diverticulitis, but perhaps it’s time for the Best Bout Machine to hang up his wrestling boots.
Kenny Omega Likes What He Sees From Triple H
On one of his Twitch streams, Kenny Omega was asked what he thought about WWE’s new creative direction under Triple H. Omega said:
“Everyone seems to know just what he is booking and what he isn’t booking. Even as a wrestler who has kind of like an inside track, I don’t know what his ideas are,” said Omega. “I don’t know what’s a result of just what comes from his brain and his brain alone, so I can’t comment to that. What I do appreciate is that he’s open-minded to all the styles of the world of wrestling. I think I’m sure he probably prefers one over the other or some over others, but I like that he’s giving everything a shot.”

Triple H Is Making WWE More About Professional Wrestling
Kenny Omega is right that Triple H is open-minded to all kinds of wrestling. This is because he is a former wrestler himself and is a fan of the sport, whereas Vince McMahon cared about sports entertainement first and found wrestling as the means to an end. You can see this in how he’s elevated midcard titles, making the Intercontinental and United States Championships mean something again, but also in the types of wrestling he pushes.
If you like high-flyers, you have the inaugural Speed Champion, Ricochet. If you like hard hitters, there’s Gunther and Raw’s new star, Ilja Dragunov. If you like old school wrestling, you can find it in the likes of Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and others. Tag team wrestling has even become exciting again, with them becoming more prominent and the Undisputed Tag Team Champs being split up into new titles with new designs. The women’s division still needs some work, but thanks to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, the women’s tag team division finally feels like must watch TV.
While AEW is still more catered to the hardcore fans, Triple H’s love for all styles of wrestling is bringing back other fans who had given up on WWE. That has been to their benefit, but has hurt AEW, as WWE’s resurgence has caused AEW’s ratings to take a dip.
