Snoop Dogg Is Reportedly Earning $500,000 a Day as an NBC Olympic Correspondent

The real winner of the 2024 Paris Olympics? Snoop Dogg.

The 52-year-old rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., has been fully embracing his duty as a special correspondent for NBC, but those viral appearances don’t come cheap, according to reports. Henry L. McNamara, a New York–based venture capitalist, took to social media to share what he had heard about Snoop’s alleged six-figure pay-outs.

“Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics,” McNamara, a Forbes 30-Under-30 honoree, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). “From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world.”

Even though the hosting gig is a short-term stint, the Grammy-nominated artist could bag a roughly $9 million paycheck if he stays on for the full 17-day span. Snoop started his Olympic festivities by carrying the torch through Saint-Denis’s streets during the opening ceremony. The hip-hop icon has continued to make headlines all throughout the Games, like when he was spotted dancing with the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, hanging with Noah Lyles‘s mom, and swimming with Michael Phelps.

“When the lights are on, that’s when I shine the best,” Snoop told the Associated Press. “This opportunity was nothing but a chance for me to show the world what it’s supposed to look like when you put the right person in the right environment.”

The music mogul has also been serving gold medal-worthy looks while in town. Most recently, he and his BFF Martha Stewart set the Internet ablaze when they donned matching equestrian-inspired ensembles to the horse dressage games. He has also been sporting a fair share of red, white, and blue tracksuits as well as custom creations like shirts emblazoned with different athletes’ faces. Of course, he had to up the ante when it came to pin trading, too, and gifted one of his bespoke emblems to U.S. tennis star Coco Gauff after her victory against Argentina. “He’s truly connected with the athletes and their parents in a way most people don’t,” NBC sports broadcaster Mike Tirico told The Wall Street Journal.

While the Games are coming to a close, Snoop will be back on the network when he joins The Voice this September along with judges Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Michael Bublé—and hopefully that paycheck is similar to his alleged Olympic earnings.
