**Los Angeles** – Cassie Ventura’s legal team has issued a scathing statement in response to recent actions by her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was seen enjoying a whitewater rafting excursion in Wyoming on July 9th amidst serious legal challenges.
The singer’s team, represented by lawyer Douglas Wigder, expressed strong disapproval of Diddy’s leisure activities given his current legal troubles, which include multiple sexual assault lawsuits and allegations of sex trafficking. In a statement provided to TMZ, Wigder remarked, “I don’t think whitewater rafting will prepare him for the choppy Waters that lie ahead.”
This statement comes nearly two months after CNN released a 2016 video showing Diddy allegedly physically assaulting Cassie. The footage depicted Diddy grabbing Cassie, pulling her to the ground, kicking her multiple times, and throwing an object at her, consistent with Cassie’s description of the incident in her November lawsuit against him. Despite initially denying the allegations and settling the lawsuit promptly, Diddy addressed the video’s release on Instagram two days later, expressing remorse and acknowledging his past actions.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life; sometimes you’ve got to do that,” Diddy confessed in his video response. “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions.”
In response to the recent developments, Cassie, who was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Diddy for over a decade since 2007, expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her community. Taking to Instagram, she wrote, “Thank you all for the love and support for my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe.”
Despite the tumultuous past, Cassie emphasized that her journey to recovery from domestic violence is ongoing. “With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past,” she added.
E! News has reached out to Cassie’s representatives for further comment but has not received a response at the time of reporting.
