D McDonagh of Judgment Day is getting some attention for an interesting wrinkle he’s added to his entrance in WWE. Of late, he’s been using an idea that was made famous by another WWE legend and fans are wondering if the idea was borrowed, stolen, or suggested by the man now running the show creatively.

The idea is the water spit that became synonymous with Triple H’s entrance as The Game.

Triple H Came Up With An Iconic Entrance
Triple H’s iconic water spit entrance in WWE is one of the most memorable in wrestling history. As his music hits, he used to march to the ring with a fierce intensity, carrying a water bottle. Pausing at the apron, he would take a big gulp, then dramatically spit a mist of water into the air, perfectly framed by arena lights. This signature move, combined with his intense persona, amped up the crowd, signaling the arrival of “The Game.”

JD McDonagh is a member of The Judgment Day on WWE’s main roster. Here are personal and professional facts about McDonagh every fan should know.

It was a simple symbol that made his entrance stand out and a staple of WWE theatrics, encapsulating the showmanship and charisma that defined his legendary career. It’s been used by others in wrestling, most notably The Ass Boys in AEW.

McDonagh Is Using Triple H’s Iconic Entrance

McDonagh Water spit

A couple of times, McDonagh has used the water spit during his entrances. The lighting for the group makes it an ideal scenario for the water spit to look cool. The question about whether McDonagh looks cool using it is another question. He’s not a key star in WWE and if he’s simply decided to add it to his repertoire, is it best that an undercard guy use something so iconic?

In the wrestling industry, these kinds of things are typically passed down from legends to the current crop of performers. For example, Kevin Owens asked Steve Austin if he could use the Stunner. One has to wonder if that conversation has taken place between McDonagh and Triple H. It’s logical to assume so since nothing that happens in WWE and on television presumably gets by Triple H, who runs the show.

Will it help McDonagh get over? It certainly looks cool, but how much will this matter to his character? Meanwhile, does it take anything away from Triple H’s legacy? Or, is an honorable thing that fans will always associate with The Game?
