3 possible worst WWE decisions of the Triple H era

Since taking over as Chief Content Officer and Creative Head of WWE, Triple H has done a phenomenal job. Under The Game’s leadership, the Stamford-based promotion has seen a huge growth in terms of the product, and he also delivered one of the best WrestleManias of all time, earlier this year at Philadelphia.

However, despite all these achievements, it can be said that some of Triple H’s decisions have also been slightly questionable. In this article, we will look at three of the worst decisions The Game possibly made as the Creative Head and CCO of WWE.

#3. Triple H declining to reunite The Hurt Business

In 2020, The Hurt Business was a faction to look forward to on Monday Night RAW. While they might not go down as one of the greatest factions in history, watching Hurt Business on television was entertaining, and it wouldn’t have been bad to see the faction reunite.

However, as per the former faction’s manager, MVP, the CCO rejected the idea. If The Game had allowed the reunion to take place, fans would have been able to see Shelton Benjamin in action. For those unaware, Hurt Business consisted of Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, and Benjamin. The latter was released by the Stamford-based promotion in September last year and he performs in the indie circuit presently.

#2. Not re-signing a talent like Dijak

One of the most trending news in professional wrestling right now is that Dijak has not been re-signed by WWE. The NXT superstar’s contract with the promotion runs out on June 28, and WWE has chosen not to renew it. This seems like a shocking move by Triple H and his team.

After all, Dijak was one of the most over superstars on NXT. Week after week, the 37-year-old was putting up memorable performances on the white and gold brand. By letting him go, WWE has possibly made one of the biggest mistakes in 2024.

#1. Introducing sponsorship on the canvas
Every WWE premium live event, apart from those in Saudi Arabia, now has the PRIME logo at the center of the ring canvas. While this might seem like a good move to some, overall the print on the canvas dilutes years of what WWE has built on, and that is clean mats which were easy on the eyes and caused no distractions.

Triple H is WWE

Also, by indulging in a sponsorship for the ring canvas, Triple H and WWE have now opened the door for more such potential sponsorships in the future, similar to the UFC octagon. It will be interesting to see how the fans would react if there were more sponsors on the WWE ring canvas,
